Pelanet

Remote Radio Link

Compact UHF radio link designed for linking into the Pelangi PELANET monitoring system or synchronising of buoys and beacons.

Shown here as Remote self contained IP67 enclosure housing COMMUNICATOR flasher, UHF radio and short range aerial .

Operating Frequency (Licence exempt) 458.5 Mhz to 458.95 Mhz
in 12.5 or 25 Khz channel spacing.
Voltage : 10 -15 volts DC
Current : 0.25amps @12 volts

Option to operate through a "Sleep Mode" Power management Card if radio power consumption critical when operated from a small solar power source.

Dimensions : 270 x 135 x 140 mm deep
Weight : 3.5 Kgs

Designed for direct connection to the COMMUNICATOR flasher for maximum versatility and no communication costs.

  • Available in the following frequencies:
    • VHF from 125 to 180 MHz
    • UHF from 390 to 490 MHz
    • UHF from 868 to 870 MHz
  • Certified under the following specifications
    EN 300 220 and ETS 300 086
  • Low Transmit and receive power drain enables unit to be easily powered from solar and permits a licence exempt status in U.K.
  • Standard 0.5 watt Module achieves over 12 miles range with other powers available for greater ranges with licence in 430-470 MHz.
  • Radio provides "On Board" LED indicators for easy site observation of Tx/Rx and data status.
  • Low power consumption allows connection to existing power sources without the need to upgrade if interrogation kept to daily contact.
  • Can be supplied for retro fitting in two options:
    • Option No1 - Aerial and Modem in self contained unit with COMMUNICATOR remaining in lantern.
    • Option No 2 - COMMUNICATOR and Modem mounted together with aerial (as shown) or larger 3 db or 5db gain antennas.
  • Master site can either be (as shown) mounted on a mid channel buoy or shore station to provide synchronisation of flash characters or alternatively, the master station can be just a radio modem connected to a PC housed in port control providing both synchronisation and remote monitoring. (see PELANET MONITOR leaflet for more information)
  • PELANET Remote monitoring master can be added at a later date without altering the remote sites when budget is available thus upgrades can be added on an as required basis in the future.
  • System can be expanded to incorporate the 2 monitor and 2 control points facilities plus analogue voltage provided for in the COMMUNICATOR .

Features

  • Each site is provided with a actual site picture for recognition by system operators.
  • Blue information section lists the site's equipment and characteristics.
  • Yellow panel shows monitored parameters up dated each time the site is interrogated.
  • Pull down menu lists history of last 100 interrogations to enable review of the site's development at a glance.
  • A site status box changes colour and text to indicate at a glance if site is operating correctly. Alarm levels can be set for optional manual acknowledgement by operator.
  • A harbour chart screen shows the station status colour within each station's name button.
  • Synchronisation of multiple buoys easily achieved within system at no extra cost.

Control Outputs

Up to 2 are set and labelled with their specific functions for ease of port control.

Global Commands

Photo cell override and synchronisation.

Monitor points

Up to 2 are provided and labelled within the yellow box of station status. Additional analogue voltage "Monitor Vdc" can be set to monitor a external voltage such as wind speed , Wave or tide height or any other specialised equipment providing a voltage output.
