PA2 with 2 x 240 volts 500 watt lamps

PA2 with 2 x 35 watt CDM-T as used in PRL400
|
The PA2
lamp changer series has been designed for use in large or small
prismatic optics with maximum versatility from a standard unit.
- The PA2 can handle a variety of lamp holders including ES,
P40s and CDM-T cap types.
- Each lamp stem support plate is manufactured to suit both
the lamp holder and lamp plus the swept clearance of the lens
itself making it very versatile. It removes the necessity to
provide additional lamp changer support pedestals if required.
- The PA2 bolts directly to the PRL400 and PRL600 Pedestals
removing the need for any cabling interfaces or modifications.
- The Pelangi PA2 Lamp changer has been designed with three
levelling screws for alignment of the lamps in the optic for
maximum optic efficiency.
- When the first lamp fails the drive circuit initiates the
motor to drive to the second position. On each subsequent calling
for the lamp the PA2 motors to the first position to the
check the lamp and then on to the second. Thus if metal lamps
are being used the PA2 will check for a good lamp each time the
system calls for a lamp. This can be automatic via photo
cell or telemetry.
Options:
- 12 and 24 volt D.C. or 110 and 240 volt A.C. drive motors.
- Clear or Matt Black anodised Aluminium or Bright Nickel Mild
steel depending on focal stems of lamps.
- Compatible with COMMUNICATOR, and most other flashers if
used in drum lenses.

PA2 Lampchanger with 2 x 35 watt CDMT Metal Halide
lamps and diffusers.
Note:
Positioning of the lampchanger within the lens can be achieved
by mounting the complete PA2 on a small pedestal within the lens
or the lamps themselves can be mounted on stems. The internal lens
clearance will determine which option is best. Similarly the vertical
angle between the lamps can be varied to remove any shadow effect
the standby lamp may create within the optic.
Pelangi International Limited will be more than pleased to offer
tailor made proposals to suit the lens on station.

Optical filter assembly for standard CDMT metal halide lamps.
Designed by Trinity House to increase the apparent width of a
CDMT filament when used in prismatic lenses with large focal lengths.
This increases the horizontal beam width and consequently the flash
length for an optics given rotational speed.
- Peak intensities of CDMT metal halide lamps
are flattened to enable their use in a prismatic lens which would
not normally be possible.
- Using the filter and CDMT metal halide combination
enables previous traditional tungsten lighthouse lamps of 1000
and 500 watts to be replaced by 35 watt lamps which are powered
from solar, not diesel generators.
- Three different heights of filters are available
to suit lenses of varying heights and their light collecting
prisms.
- Ideal to convert Acetylene Gas powered pedestal
lenses with prisms arranged at the bottom of the optic to collect
Gas Mantled light.
- Easily removed to change lamps.
