The PL350S-LED Lantern offers an efficient, low-maintenance LED alternative to older-style sectored filament lanterns.
- Developed from the well-proven PL350-LED Lantern, the PL350S-LED has the same rugged construction using high quality components, giving up to 10 years unattended operation in the marine environment.
- Sectoring is achieved in each tier via a 2-LED assembly (duty and standby) and parabolic lens, with blanking shields factory pre-positioned to suit the required viewing angles for the site.
- The PL350S-LED is available with up to 6 tiers of LED's stacked in one unit to suit the viewing range required. Each tier can be Red, Green, or White to suit the requirements of the site, giving many possible combinations including duplicate tiers of the same colour/angles for increased visibility range.
- Sector accuracy is better than ½ degree, which is more than adequate for most port applications.
- Each tier has a duty and standby LED providing a total output of 240 per tier. Range achieved is up to 10 miles depending on the configuration.
- Lower power consumption than equivalent filament lanterns, making solar power a possibility where not previously practical or cost effective. Adjustable intensity enables power consumption to be reduced further for shorter range applications.
- Optional Communicator Flasher equipped versions can interface to our WEBSCADA System. This enables connection to our Satellite, Radio, or GPS systems for remote monitoring, control, or synchronisation.

The above schematic layout shows a typical 3 colour lantern. In this case with one tier of each
colour, and 3 colours. Other combinations are possible, up to a maximum of 6 tiers. Each tier has 2 light sources: 1 duty and 1 standby – both can be utilised simultaneously for increased power.
The drawing on the left shows the track mounted sector shields and one of 3 thin stainless steel sheets, which join the LED tiers together without significant light loss common with the thick astragals found on older-style lanterns.
